A flight school in the UK has fully embraced the iPad by providing its instructors the device with all the tools needed to help teach student pilots. Now all their maps, flight plans, checklists and the rest of the materials that Virtual Aviation’s instructors used to carry around are all stored in the iPad.

James Stevenson from Virtual Aviation, stated, ““It’s absolutely fabulous, it’s no exaggeration to say that the iPad is going to revolutionise our business, whilst being used in an unenvisaged role.”

It’s absolutely amazing how many industries have recognized the iPad’s potential first to help students in college, then healthcare workers at hospitals and now instructors at a flight school. The possibilities seem endless.

One has to wonder though, what type of pull Virtual Aviation had to be able to buy iPads before its official release inside the UK.
