MotionX GPS HD for iPad Review

Are you looking for a full-featured navigational app for your iPad that’s not going to burn a hole in your pocket? If you are, then you must check out Fullpower Technologies’ MotionX GPS HD, exclusively optimized for the iPad. A port of the MotionX GPS for the iPhone, the HD version is bigger and better than ever before, using the iPad’s large display to its full potential.

Review
MotionX GPS HD is a great navigation app for any field trips you may have. You can use it for driving, boating, flying and walking. The app uses both Google maps and Bing or better yet, you can go to MotionX‘s website and download their own maps into your iPad, so you can use it even when you’re not online.

Simply look up an address and let the app guide you to your destination. You can also save waypoints to your favorite places, view coordinates in several formats, search for landmarks, cities, streets, longitude/latitude and even route a path anywhere in the world.

MotionX GPS HD provides road, satellite and hybrid views. You can zoom in and out of the map and follow your progress as it happens live. The developers have thought of everything to make navigating easy for the user. All the buttons are large, easy to follow and they’ve even provided full access to your iPod collection within the app. There’s not much more you can ask for in an app at this pricepoint, besides of course, trying to figure out how and where to set up your iPad in your vehicle.

Recommendation
MotionX GPS HD for the iPad is recommended for people looking to find a reasonably priced, do-it-all navigation app that covers land, air and sea. The app provides all the tools you’ll ever need, anywhere in the world. MotionX GPS HD works best when used on an iPad 3G but will also work with the Wi-Fi only version as long as there is a network available. MotionX GPS HD is available at the App Store now for $2.99.

    Hello,

I haven't been able to tell from any of the review – does this have a "traditional" car GPS view (like a Garmin or Tomtom) with turn-by-turn directions?

@mike unfortunately no turn-by-turn but still a wonderful app! Can't wait for a turn by turn gps app though…the one that is out now sounds like it's poorly done.
