Samsung Electronics to Ship Out Mass Quantities of iPad Displays Starting in July

According to a report by Digitimes, Samsung Electronics, Apple’s second largest producer of iPad panels, will begin shipping roughly 300,000 – 500,000 of the 9.7-inch displays beginning in July.

Their sources says, production continues to increase as LG Display, the main producer of the iPad panels, shipped 800,000 – 900,000 units back in May, slightly up from the 700,000 units it had shipped the month before that and especially more than the 300,000 it shipped back in February.

Kuo Ming-Chi, Digitimes Research analyst said the iPad’s monthly shipments have reached 1.2 million units and estimates are that it may go up as much as 2.5 million units a month by the end of this year.
