YouTube Launches HTML5 Mobile Site
When you surf over to http://m.youtube.com on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, you’ll notice something different. The site is no longer covered with Flash error messages, but rather a sexy new mobile site that has implemented HTML5 to support all the Apple folks out there (it works great on Android devices too!).
Maybe you’re thinking, “I already have the YouTube app on my home screen.” Yes, you do. However, in this new mobile site, there are a lot of new features that are available on the native iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad app. Search results populate the screen and refine as you type your search, the mobile site is a little easier to navigate, or you can “bookmark”, “like” or save individual videos as favorites.
When you first navigate to the page, you’ll be prompted to save the bookmark on your homepage, thus serving as a better YouTube app than you already have on your device.
Check it out!
