According to a recent report by AllThingsD, the much anticipated iPhone 5 media event will be held on Tuesday, October 4th. Tim Cook, Apple’s new CEO is expected to present the latest generation iPhone and all other new products from here on out. Sources also add that the new iPhone 5 will be made available to the public within a few weeks after the event.

Whether or not Steve Jobs will be making a special appearance during the media event is anyone’s guess at this point. This will be Tim Cook’s first product announcement since taking over as Apple’s CEO.
