“Ooh!” That was my first thought when I feasted my eyes on Martha Stewart Makes Cookies by Callaway Digital Arts. If you’re a cookie lover or simply love to bake, you are almost certain to find this recipe app drool worthy.

Martha Stewart Makes Cookies is a spectacular lifestyle app for the iPad that offers a spread of cookies for you to browse through with your fingertips. Instead of scrolling down an A-Z list of cookies, you’ll be panning across a continuous scene of delectable cookies set against a beige background. There are rolled cookies, molded cookies, piped cookies, biscotti, etc, etc, etc. Do you love spice, chocolate, caramel, or fruit? There’s probably a cookie here for everyone.

Aside from picking a cookie by its picture, you can also search for cookies by means of a “cookie wheel”, which lets you narrow down your choice by type and flavor. If you wish, you may flick through the entire list of cookies, complete with their brief descriptions.

I am absolutely impressed with the app’s amazing UI and ease of navigation. The experience is almost magical. This is one app you should show off to anyone who is on the fence about getting an iPad. In addition to the cookie recipes, other features the app offers include the ability to add ingredients in a recipe to a shopping list, a timer, a guide to various baking tools, baking tips, and even packaging suggestions. You may also view several cookie making videos.

Altogether, the app currently holds over 70 cookie recipes. That sounds like a good number, although I confess I do still wish there were more. The cookie pictures are so gorgeous many or most of them have a festive look and will be a great fit for the Holidays.
