Flight Update Pro – Live Flight Status, Alerts + Trip Sync will let you keep track of all your flights for as many trips as you want. The app can help you search for direct and indirect flights by route, or search for a specific flight, and provide you with various updated details, including the airport terminal, departure and arrival times, gate changes, baggage claim information, flight cancellations, etc. Over 1400 domestic and international airlines and hundreds of worldwide airports are covered, so you need not worry about not finding your flight in this app.

If you use TripIt, you can easily sync your data between devices—and if you don’t already use the service, you should by all means create a free account. But if for some reason you’re against using TripIt, you can still fully access all the other features in Flight Update Pro. For each flight, you’ll be able see a Google map of the flight path. Additional information is also available, such as a plane seating chart (although it will not show you free versus occupied seats), the weather, and you can share your flight details with your friends or loved ones via email. One very useful feature of Flight Update Pro is that it can “mirror” your flights in your Calendar.

Plane layout (seating information) is provided via TripAdvisor webpage, and as a bonus, you can find on that same page a small box to search for flights, hotels, and car rentals. It is a pity Flight Update Pro does not provide a better way to compare flight prices and purchase tickets. That said, Flight Update Pro does a good job of what it has set out to do—to provide prompt and valuable information about your flights.
