Spent too much on your iPad and can’t afford to buy a book for it? Well, look no further because Project Gutenberg has free books for you! According to a report by 9to5Mac, Project Gutenberg books should work with iPad’s iBooks app. For those unfamiliar with Project Gutenberg, it is a place where one can download over 30,000 free ebooks to read on your computer, iPhone or any available eReader device. These books are offered for free because their copyright have all expired.

Since Project Gutenberg uses the ePub format, it should work fine with the iPad, as well. As mentioned on Apple’s website, ‘The iBooks app uses the ePub format — the most popular open book format in the world. That makes it easy for publishers to create iBooks versions of your favorite reads. And you can add free ePub titles to iTunes and sync them to the iBooks app on your iPad.As mentioned on the Apple website “you can add free ePub titles to iTunes and sync them to the iBooks app on your iPad.”

So there you have it folks. What can be better than free? I’d say why wait till April 3rd, start searching their catalog and begin downloading your favorite books now.
