Yes, Instapaper for iPad is coming, but its release is still unknown. Extensive tests have yet to be made to make sure the app runs smoothly and in order for that to happen, the developers must first get their hands on an actual iPad. Thanks to Marco Arment, in his official blog, there are some things we do know…

If you’ve already purchased Instapaper Pro for iPhone, you will receive the iPad version for free as soon as it comes out. For those unfamiliar with Instapaper, it allows you to save web pages that you find that you’d like to read but do not have time for during the day.

The iPad version is said to look like the iPhone app, but on a bigger scale, of course. According to Arment, there will be slight differences given the iPad’s larger screen. The biggest redesign was made in the app’s landscape-orientation list which is gives you a split screen view, just like what you would find on the iPhone’s Mail application.

You will find minor tweaks here and there, but overall, Instapaper for iPad app is the same app for the iPhone, so there won’t be much learning to do when you finally get the app on your iPad. This is welcome news indeed.

Here are a few screenshots of Instapaper for iPad.
