Apple Adds 30,000+ Free eBooks to iBookstore with Project Gutenberg Collection

Earlier this week, 9to5Mac reported the compatibility of free eBooks downloaded from Project Gutenberg with the iPad. However, after digging further into the iBookstore, the folks at App Advice discovered that Apple had already included the entire catalog for free. Sweet!

Because these eBooks are being offered for free doesn’t mean they’re not worthy of your time. In fact, Project Gutenberg eBooks includes classics such as Mark Twains’ The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Alice in Wonderland. The reason behind the free offering were simply because all their copyrights have long expired.

So there you have it folks. Enjoy and happy reading!
