Ashland, Oregon – Art Authority, developers of the award-winning line of classic art apps, today announced that their Art Alert app will be on sale for just 99 cents throughout the Memorial Day weekend. Art Alert uses the Art Authority database of 60,000+ works to help users easily find, preview and get to real art in the real world.

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of the summer travel season. Travelers (as well as those at home on “staycations”) can utilize Art Alert to see art museums and other art locations near them on a map, get information and directions, and preview works of art available at those locations. If they have the Art Authority app installed, they can automatically switch over to that app for additional details on the locations, works and artists.

Art Alert runs on iPads, iPhones and iPod touches and is normally priced at $2.99 through the App Store. Details are available on the Art Alert Web site.

Art Authority is the product of an innovative collaboration between two separate software companies, Open Door Networks and Project A. Art Authority’s mission is the design, development and deployment of the best ways for users to experience art on their modern-day devices.
