ARTnews Launches New iPad App with MAZ Platform
MAZ, the digital publishing platform for tablet and mobile devices, offers a unique platform solution that allows publishers to create and manage their own socially interactive, multimedia apps, without the need for coding. MAZ is also the platform behind other top-tier industry titles, including Forbes and Inc. Magazine. In addition to iPad apps, MAZ has launched products for iPhone, Android smartphones and tablets, as well as the Amazon Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD.
“For our first app, we wanted an attractive and flexible platform that allows readers to download issues quickly,” said Laura McLaughlin, Production Director, ARTnews. “MAZ provides all of these functions, and it was clear from the start that they share our desire as publishers to develop an app that’s easily accessible to everyone. We also wanted to reach out to our international audience, as well as to our tech-savvy readers who want to read ARTnews on their tablets.”
The MAZ platform offers a robust sharing functionality called Clippings that gives readers the tools to directly clip any piece of content in the app to easily share with their friends via e-mail, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Tumblr without ever leaving the pages of ARTnews.
“It’s essential that a highly creative and innovative magazine like ARTnews retains its vibrancy, clarity and beauty when being viewed on a tablet or mobile device,” said Paul Canetti, Founder and CEO of MAZ. “The quality has to be impeccable, and from there, the advantages of digital start to come through: portability, social media sharing, instant delivery and so on. Now people can be continuously updated on the status of the art world wherever they are.”
Single issues of ARTnews are available on the iPad for $4.99, and a six-month subscription costs $14.99. To download the new ARTnews app, visit: artnews.com/digital-editions/
