The Cave Arrives at the App Store

the caveSEGA of Europe Ltd., in a partnership with Double Fine Productions, today announced that The Cave, the spelunking puzzle adventure created by legendary game designer Ron Gilbert, is now live on the App Store.

Named Game Informer’s Best Adventure Game of E3 2012, The Cave is an adventure game from Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion creator Ron Gilbert, and Double Fine Productions, the award-winning studio behind Psychonauts and Brütal Legend. Players can assemble their team of three from seven unlikely adventures, each with their own unique personalities and stories, and then descend into the mysterious depths of The Cave. New touch screen controls enhance the experience on iOS.

“We always planned to release The Cave on touch screen devices, and we worked hard to ensure the game controls felt responsive and intuitive,” said Ron Gilbert. “We were also able to retain the graphical fidelity of the console version so players can now get the full subterranean adventure experience in a portable format.”

The Cave is available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, the game is priced at $4.99.
