Code Pilot Goes Open Source and Gets Xcode 5 support
Warsaw, Poland – Macoscope today is thrilled to announce an open source release of Code Pilot – an Xcode plugin, that allows efficient and smart navigation through source code. This release also includes support for latest version of the IDE – Xcode 5.
Introduced in early 2010, initially for Xcode 3, Code Pilot was one of the first plugins for Objective-C programmers. It was also the very first add-on for Xcode 4 later on. Over time, it received fantastic response from seasoned iOS and OS X developers.
Code Pilot’s killer feature is, among other things, the way it interprets search queries. Similarily to the well-known TextMate editor, Code Pilot uses fuzzy matching algorhythm, treating each letter of a query separately. In this simple way, it speeds up the development process, making switching between files and navigating through code symbols a breeze.
It became a free application in late 2012 and now, Macoscope wants to give back to the community by releasing its source code and allowing every developer to participate in shaping its future.
Dive deep into Code Pilot’s source code on github and feel free to improve it or create your own Xcode add-ons. Seasoned developers, runtime hackers and other tinkerers will definitely enjoy going through Code Pilot’s source code, which is mostly effect of multi-month effort to discover Xcode internals and use them for plugin’s own purposes.
Pricing and Availability:
Code Pilot is free and available now from Macoscope online. This release also includes support for latest version of the IDE – Xcode 5.
