BBC Evaluates the iPad at the Workplace

BBC has begun testing the iPad at various departments within the organization to evaluate its effectiveness in streamlining processes and cutting costs.

Chief Technology officer, John Linwood stated, “We’re seeding the organisation [with the devices]. We put some iPads into production and some into management and other roles to see if people would be able to give up their desktops.

According to Linwood, having a handheld device such as the iPad, prove to be the better solution all around for staff out on the field, storing technical data and conduct meetings without the need for paper.

Tablet devices from other manufacturers are also being evaluated within the organization.
