Today we check out Speck’s Fitted case for the iPad, a fashionable and trendy offering by the same company who made the CandyShell we reviewed earlier. The Fitted case is available in five original fabric patterns on a form-fitting two-piece hard shell case. Let’s take a closer look.

Review
Speck’s Fitted case design is unlike the CandyShell case we reviewed earlier. The Fitted case comes in two pieces, the back and a front portion which snaps into place. The case provides openings for all the iPad’s controls, ports and sensors, allowing for easy access.

The exterior is made from a hard shell plastic with a soft matte coating. The Fitted case is wrapped in fabric, giving your device a dressed-up look. It comes in five colors: Houndstooth Gray, Fadeaway Gray/Black/Green, Fadeaway Gray/Black/Pink, ClassicPlaid Pink & Gray, Black & White Plaid.

There’s no room for the iPad to move, once inside the case. The fit is nice and snug, which allows the case to provide some protection to the device in terms of scratches and little dings. The Fitted case weighs in at 9.6 oz, so it will add a some bulk to your device.

This case is cable-friendly but not dock-friendly as the CandyShell. The back portion is solid from top to bottom; therefore you will have to remove the case if you’d like to dock your device. Because of the fabric material, the Fitted isn’t prone to scratches and scuffs like the CandyShell’s glossy finish. The Fitted case does not come with a screen protector included. Therefore, I highly suggest that you also purchase one to protect that beautiful screen, like Speck’s ShieldView screen film for $24.95.
