Closed Between 4-5 pm, Apple Retailers Prepare for iPad 3G’s Release

In preparation for the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G’s launch this afternoon, Apple has made the decision to close all of their 220+ retail stores between the hours of 4 – 5 p.m., today.

If Apple’s calculations are correct and adds the 450,000 units of the iPad Wi-Fi only units sold, to this weekend’s iPad 3G sales, we may be looking at an astonishing one million iPads sold by the beginning of next week.
