Digitimes claims that Apple may be looking at using OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels on the iPad 2G. According to their sources, Apple have already started development on the next generation of iPads, which will use the same design concept as those of the iPhone 4G.
Vodafone, Orange and O2 to Offer iPad Service in Europe and Australia

According to a report by MobileCrunch, O2 and Orange will offer service plans to iPads in the UK, while Vodafone, also a carrier for the iPad within the UK, will also provide service in Australia, Germany, Italy and Spain. No pricing information had been given on either the iPad or service plans which is now set for a late-May release.
Israeli Customs Prevent iPads From Entering Country

No Wi-Fi clearance, means no iPads into Israel. Not yet, anyways. Customs agents are being instructed to prevent iPads from entering Israel because the communications ministry has not given the iPad the Wi-Fi clearance it needs to operate in country. The ruling comes although the chip residing inside the iPad has already been in use in a number of Israel’s approved devices.

People overseas who simply cannot wait for iPad’s international release are paying outrageous prices on eBay for the device. According to a photo posted on TUAW, one impatient person paid as high as $5,000 for a 64 GB iPad, promised to be hand-delivered anywhere in the world while another reportedly paid $5,500 from within the UK. With these prices, sellers could very well pay for roundtrip first class tickets to deliver their goods and then some!
iPad Overheats, Under Direct Sunlight for 10 Minutes

PC Magazine’s Zach Honig recently posted an image of his iPad after he received a temperature warning on his display on the popular social networking site, Twitter. This came after only using it for ten minutes outside, under direct sunlight, on a 70 degree New York City day. As a result from the overheating issue, his iPad automatically shut itself off, allowing it time to cool off.

Yes, we all knew it was just a matter of time before an iPad was stolen, but this soon? Mohamed Aboutaleb of New Hampshire was robbed at a local Best Buy parking lot shortly after making his purchase in the morning. The perpetrators, who remain at large, were part of a shove-and-grab scheme with one grabbing the shopping bag containing the iPad and the other driving the getaway car.

Today, Apple disclosed its Day 1 sales figures with over 300,000 WiFi only iPad units sold. This figure arrived from counting shipments to retail partners that included places like Best Buy, Apple Specialists. Also included in the press release, Apple announced that an average of 3+ apps and 1 iBook were downloaded by users within hours of giving life to their new iDevices.

Rumors are buzzing around the net about the iPad’s international launch date being April 24th. The date came from the website, iPad In Canada, whose source mentioned Apple employees were told April 24th is a “black out period,” which meant none of them were allowed to take the day off.
