iPad 3G Models Completely Sold Out at Apple Stores, Waiting Lists Begin

Most Apple retailers have reported that their entire iPad 3G inventory have all been sold. AppleInsider contacted ten Apple stores across the nation on Thursday and were told that all iPad 3G models, in all storage capacities, were completely sold out. Some stores also reported selling out of the Wi-Fi only iPads, as well.

OmniGraffle, a productivity app which aids in organizing one’s thoughts by allowing the creation of quick and colorful diagrams, have sold over 5,000 copies since its launch on April 3rd. The Omni Group, developers of OmniGraffle, were so sure of its success that they placed their Mac OS X development on hold to work solely on the iPad version.

According to Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty, there has been a sharp decline in notebook and netbook sales, since the iPad was first announced back in January. Huberty told investors that 44 percent of the U.S. consumers who purchased an iPad, considered buying a notebook or a netbook first.

The Berkeley, a 5-star luxury hotel in London, will offer the free use of an iPad to guests staying in certain suites during their stay. According to TUAW, the iPad will be loaded to entertain both kids (games, videos and comics) and adults, with downloaded digital newspapers, such as The Wall Street Journal. In addition, the iPad will aid guests to plan out itineraries and help with finding places to visit.

Steve Jobs, Unhappy with New York Times Editors’ Choice App for iPad

According to Business Insider, Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, is not very happy with the free New York Times app, NYT Editors’ Choice for iPad. Apparently, unlike the iPhone app, which provides the full edition of the paper, the iPad version only provides a fraction of what is offered online.
