DJ World Studio for iPad Review
Posted by Mike Lata | Mar 01, 2011 | 0
For those DJs and music lovers out there looking to spice up your iPads with more than just an iPod iTunes music library and want to actually mix some songs together into something unique — be sure to check out DJ World Studio by Little World Studio. Although I am not too familiar with remixes and club DJing, I found myself really drawn to this app and enjoying the content I created. There are just so many options and ways to manipulate sounds with the app it’s pretty mesmerizing. It also taught me a lot about real DJing as the app is advertised for both beginners and pros. DJ World Studio is a great way to learn the trade digitally first and practice for seasoned DJ artists. The app also really shines in the sense how intuitive it is and how it takes advantage of almost all corners of the iPad’s touchscreen.

Hunters Episode 1: Gameplay Hands-On for iPad
Posted by Mike Lata | Feb 25, 2011 | 0
‘Hunters’ by Rodeo Games has been generating a lot of attention lately in the Apple gaming circles as the next big strategy game coming out on the iDevices — and for a good reason. I had a chance to sit down with the current build of the game for the iPad and try out some of the game’s core gameplay mechanics out. The preview build I am using still has some problems, but those should be ironed out by the time the game gets released. In one mission the iPad touchscreen responsiveness stopped working in being able to move and select units. But I was able to go to the menu screen and pan the view around. Despite these setbacks by an early build and things to work out by the developers, Hunters is already looking like a spectacular game.

PuppetShow: Mystery of Joyville HD Review for iPad
Posted by Mike Lata | Feb 24, 2011 | 0
Big Fish Games has a number of quality puzzle-solving, hidden object games under their disposal on the App Store. Titles such as Ancient Spirits: Columbus’ Legacy or Big City Adventure: San Francisco HD are great offerings for iPad gamers, especially since such titles are a perfect fit for the touchscreen. Their latest hidden-object title, PuppetShow: Mystery of Joyville HD is among their best titles and should definitely please any puzzle or hidden object fans. The game mixes in some puzzle solving and mini-games along with the traditional hidden object formula of locating various objects hidden on a screen with beautiful artwork. These objects range from things like a spoon or a jar; to hidden masks on wall edges; to keys, butterflies and various other intricacies. The artwork and music help the title feel refreshing and upbeat to play; the game has great overall presentation and atmosphere.

Apple Rejects Readability App For Non-compliance with New Subscription Model
Posted by Mary Ann Neder | Feb 21, 2011 | 0
Following Sony’s eReader rejection, Arc90′s Readability app became the second to be disapproved by Apple because it failed to comply with its new subscription model, bypassing iTunes’ billing service and denying them their 30% cut. Had it been approved, Readability, a $5 per month subscription, would have taken away ads and other nuisances from articles it found on the Safari browser, making them easier to read on iOS devices.
