The SecureMac team today announced a new version of the BlackHole RAT 2.0 Trojan Horse for Mac OS X has been discovered. The new version of the trojan horse adds itself as a login item disguised as Java, has a more believable prompt for username and password. It slows down the computer by tying up the CPU with a loop function, executes shell commands, and can attempt to erase the hard drive. This new version should be not confused with an older variant from back in February.
Christopher Jude Sanchez today released The Blackhole 2.3.1 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The fun game application is based on a match-3 physics concept, challenging players to catch groups of same colored stars to prevent The Blackhole from reaching critical mass, while listening to soothing, Zen-like sound effects. Players can earn achievements and strive for leaderboard placement through the game center. This latest update is a major one, meaning smoother, faster stars and gameplay.
