ChordBankPro 1.1 takes serious cues on design from Apple in its latest release, which adds support for left-handed guitarists, and what it calls ‘Smart Chords.’ ChordBankPro is a popular guitar chord-finder app for iOS devices. The app draws on popular chord changes to generate dozens of chord progressions for each of the thousands of chords in ChordBankPro. The “Smart Chords” features dozens of progressions, each organized by the target chord’s ‘alias’ in a scale.

Dutch indie developer Matthijs Hollemans announces Reverse Chord Finder Pro 2.0.4, his musician’s utility for iPhone and iPod touch. Reverse Chord Finder Pro is an inverse chord dictionary that lets songwriters, composers, musicians & music students quickly match chord names to the notes they are playing. It lets the user select notes on piano, guitar or musical staff notation and then displays the names of the chords that correspond to those notes. It’s a great way to discover cool new chords.
