Zen! Review for iPad
Posted by Mike Lata | Feb 14, 2011 | 0
Want to turn your iPad into a wooden table-top marble madness game or a virtual board game made out of fancy wood and containing laser beams? Do you enjoy the Labyrinth series of games or logical games that test your hand-eye coordination? All these descriptions can be attributed to the latest marble-rolling game — Zen! by Marco Siino. It is an intriguing table-top ball rolling game where the objective is match color-coded balls to their destination holes. However, you will be putting multiple balls in their respective holes at once in many of the levels and even splitting balls into multiple parts simultaneously to complete the board. All this will also be done while avoiding various obstacles, like laser beams, as well as balancing the board to prevent balls from falling into the wrong holes. The game is very relaxing and soothing and you can really hear the marbles bounce off the wooden walls as if your iPad was really made out of wood.Coladia Announces Valentine Offer – All Adventure iPad Games On Sale

Terava Review for iPad
Posted by Mike Lata | Feb 07, 2011 | 2
If you have ever had an urge to become Robin Hood for a while or enjoy shooting down skeletons with a bow and arrow then check out Terava by Julian Raschke. The game is quite unique on the app store in the sense that it’s a 2D platformer but with a lot of interactivity thrown in. You can jump on enemies or shoot them with ranged weapons (not just a bow and arrow) like a magical wand. Terava is really a mix of a platformer and an RPG, but also contains some elements thrown in from point-and-click adventure games. You grab items or open doors by touching them while other more abundant items like gold are picked up by moving your on-screen character on them. There are also various staircases to go into or caves below-ground to explore; so it doesn’t play like a traditional platformer at all but something more immersive.EyePower Games launches AlterLook – A free and fun makeover iPhone app

Tiki Towers 2 Review for iPad
Posted by Mike Lata | Feb 01, 2011 | 1
Feel like monkeying around? One word to describe Tiki Towers 2 by GameHouse is plain crazy, out-of-control mayhem. The monkeys in this case have taken over the zoo, so to speak, in this ‘Planet of the Apes’ style of world you enter into called the Monkey Republic. You will be helping the monkeys escape to their goals and reach onto statues — from a box they are trapped in at the beginning of each level — by building structures that comprise of towers and bridges. These structures are used by the monkeys to climb over but you only have a limited amount of bamboo poles to build them. These poles attach themselves in to coconuts and metallic beams suspended in mid air. This review is coming from someone who hasn’t played the original title but the two games should be quite similar outside of additions like special items and tools at your disposal.

During the recent Macworld 2011 event I got a chance to sit down and talk with the creator of the original Fargoal title from the early 80s, and collaborator on the iOS sequels, Jeff McCord, who is also a member of the Trouble Brothers development studio — along with Fargoal LLC — that makes games for the iDevices like the innovative multiplayer puzzle-board game Wizard Hex; which was featured on the App Store in the “New and Noteworthy” and “What’s Hot” categories. As promised, I will reveal new information in this interview about the upcoming sequel to the critically acclaimed retro remakes for the iDevices that were Sword of Fargoal and Sword of Fargoal Legends.
