I took a lot of photos and some video of the event and many exhibitions I had a chance to check out. The event was great with some really unique gadgets, apps and innovations to see. I was really taken and impressed by a solar battery charger shown tested on the iPad called the JOOS Solar Charger — I also found out at the event that it won an award during CES 2011 for innovation. Imagine having an iPad charged (at least up to 70% of full battery) wherever there is sun present. I also liked the comfortable swing chair that desktop Mac users should feel at home with and the variety of skins available from Music Skins as decorations for the iDevices (I was told desktops and laptops as well).

Tonight I attended the Macworld 2011 Media Evening Reception event at the Moscone Center West Hall — previewing what to expect from the next three days of Macworld 2011 in San Francisco. Tonight’s event was basically a media gathering of various press members from all kinds of Mac or app related websites and magazines (even a gentleman from a newspaper wanted to cover tech) and there was food and beer to go around — or wine for the more exquisite out there. In this little preview of the main event — that will be hosted at the same Moscone Center West Hall Jan. 27-29 — the press was basically getting to know each other and discussing Mac apps, hardware and tech; but there was also a number of products displayed for us to examine. I received a nice iPad case and a little iPad hand strap. Head on over to Appmodo to find out more about the conference and what to expect from the main show.
