Condé Nast saw a significant increase in both digital subscriptions and single copy sales since the launch of Newsstand, it was announced today by Monica Ray, Condé Nast’s executive vice president consumer marketing. In the two weeks since Newsstand was introduced, new subscription sales, per week, across all nine digital editions, rose 268%, with single copy sales up 142% compared to the previous eight weeks.

With sales of Apple’s iPad soaring and the wave of new tablets continuing in 2011, Bonnier announced today that it is joining forces with top ad shop CP+B to develop next-generation advertising formats for tablet magazines. The move addresses a fundamental need in the industry: all-new advertising for all-new advertising platforms. Bonnier’s Mag+ platform has since expanded to 11 magazines internationally.

According to a recent report by the Audit Bureau of Circulations, iPad magazine sales have dropped significantly across the board. Wired magazine was downloaded 24,000 times on it’s first day, with over 100,000 in the month of June. Since then the magazine has seen an average of 31,000 downloades each month from July to September and going downwards to 22,000 and 23,000 downloads for October and November.

Even before the iPad hits the streets, publishers and advertisers are taking advantage of newest technology to get their products out to the consumers. A report by the Wall Street Journal mentioned that Time Magazine had already signed up at least six advertisers costing $200,000 each for one spot appearing within the first eight editions of their magazines on the iPad.

More information is becoming available regarding 3rd-party content, as we get closer to the iPad’s release. An internal memo from Condé Nast revealed the list of the first of the magazines that will be initially available for the iPad. They are:
