BroSoft Labs today introduces SquareUpMax 1.1 for iOS, their construction game where players are challenged to return numbered shapes to their original stacked arrangement, following a massive explosion that scatters the shapes randomly. Each shape is shoved or flipped back toward its former position, as demarcated by an empty numbered outline, and a green check appears on each shape as it is returned. Players earn high scores by using less time, fewer moves, and maximizing their bonus.
Ballast Lane Applications has just released an iPad app based on Thomas Hoving’s book Master Pieces: The Curators Game published in 2005 to bring a favorite game of his to the public. The app allows players to train their “curatorial eye” and appreciate the details found in great masterpieces from 1200s to the 20th century. There are three games based on over 400 details from 54 beautiful paintings and Hoving’s inspired essays about the works and their creators.
