Fort Wayne based Giggle World Productions, LLC today announced the recent update of Giggle Bear for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer will receive a total of $50,000 once the app reaches 500,000 downloads. With every paid download, Giggle World will donate money to support breast cancer research. Giggle Bear is available on iTunes and includes the Giggle World animal creation activity and four different games to play.
Washington-based Juicy Bits today announces Halftone 1.5, an update to their vintage effects app for iOS. Halftone is a fun way to add aged printing and comic-style effects to photos to give them a unique, vintage look. It offers over 20 paper styles, nine layouts, two caption formats, six different speech ballon shapes, over 20 stamps, and three licensed fonts. Photos can be customized, then saved to the photo album, sent via e-mail, shared with friends on Facebook and Twitter, and printed.
Flurry, a leader in acquisition, retention and monetization services for more than 35,000 companies building iPhone applications raises Series C financing of $15 million to accelerate build out of services. The round was led by Menlo Ventures with participation from existing investors, including Draper Fisher Jurvetson, InterWest, First Round Capital and Union Square Ventures. Sonja Hoel Perkins, Menlo Ventures Managing Director, will join Flurry’s board of directors.
