Speaking on condition of anonymity, sources have informed The New York Times that Apple has made plans to host a special event on Wednesday, March 2nd, to introduce the world to the second generation iPad. If this is indeed true, the press will likely receive invitations to the event within the next few days.

Can you imagine a 2048×1536 resolution display being squeezed onto that relatively small iPad2 screen — as compared to large desktop computers or Macs — because evidence is already coming out that Apple will do just that.

More iPad 2 rumors have continued to surface, with the very latest being that multiple configurations of the iDevice will be made available to satisfy many carriers. According to 9to5Mac, the focus was to keep the iPad 2 connected to the internet at all times. With this in mind, Apple is said to offer Wi-Fi, UMTS and CDMA iPads.

iLounge’s source reports Apple is currently working on a new iPad with a 7-inch display which may be unveiled later on this year or by early 2011. With the popularity of small screened eBook readers, the iPad Mini may just be the ticket to sway them into joining the Apple bandwagon.

In the company’s Facebook page, AT&T have extended their $29.99 unlimited data plan offer to allow customers who have placed an order for the iPad 3G, but have yet to receive them, by June 7th.

We have some good news and not so good news for Hulu fans. The good – it appears that Hulu for iPad and Android devices will be released in May, possibly on May 24th. The app will allow access to five current TV shows free of charge. The bad – should you choose to dive deeper into their entire catalog, it will cost you $9.95 a month for a subscription.
