BeSoft today announces Taxi INT 1.2.1 for iOS, an update to their app that lists more than 1,200 taxi companies throughout the world. Constantly expanding, the database currently includes 15 different countries and more than 100 major cities. In addition to phone numbers and auto-dial, many listings include additional information, such as fares to points of interest and airports. BeSoft is currently developing a multi-lingual website where taxi companies can add themselves to the database.
myTaxiControl announces the release of myTaxiControl 1.1a for iOS. Taxi customers are in a weak position compared to the driver. myTaxiControl completely inverts the power of balance, it puts the passenger in control. It allows to check if the correct tariff is applied. No longer being taken for a ride: the app graphically compares the ideal route to the one taken by the driver. It recalculates the fare as the taxi moves. It can even calculate the estimated fare before boarding a taxi.
London based Michaels Apps today announced a promotional holiday contest for Crazy Taxi!, the developer’s arcade style racing game for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Designed for users to compete for high scores against an online community, Crazy Taxi’s leaderboards will be cleared on December 20th with the highest scoring players on Crazy Taxi’s regular and HD leaderboards each set to receive a iTunes gift card at the conclusion of the contest on January 31st.
